Lauren Tarquinio & Briley

2013 Women's Flushing National Champion

Lauren and Bailey won the women's flushing for the second year in a row with a 3 minute run.  Bailey is owned by Tom Timmerman, of Key Largo, Florida.

At the end of the week, the top 30 dogs out of 260 compete in the Open Finals.  Silver Pigeon Gun Dogs was proud to have two dogs compete with the top finalist.  Rambo got off to a great start early in the morning with a 4 minute run.  About an hour later, it was Briley's turn and she was ready to go.  She had a fast run, but an extra shell used cost her 5 crucial points.  In the afternoon, the dogs each had a final run to go, to combine with their morning scores.  Rambo spent a little too much time on his first bird, but found the 2nd and 3rd bird pretty quick and ended up with a 6 minute run.  Briley breezed right through the field in 3 minutes for her afternoon run.  When the results were in, Rambo placed 4th overall (missed 3rd by 1 second), and Briley finished 11th.  The competition was extremely tight this year with so many talented dogs and handlers from across the country.  Congrats to all the winners!

Nationals 2013

February 16-23

Another field trialing season comes to an end, and we head to Town Creek, Alabama for the 2012-2013 National Championship.  This past year, we traveled to 8 different states to compete from New York, to Alabama, to Illinois.  Both Briley & Rambo earned multiple championships and Briley was inducted into the UFTA Hall of Fame.  It was a busy year for us indeed but all the practice paid off for the National Finals.  Our dogs excelled in Doubles Pointing, as well as the Open Pointing Class.

Rambo & Sandy made it to the finals in the Doubles for the second year in a row, and then finished overall in the top 13.

In the Open semi finals, Briley had a 4 minute run, and a 6 minute run, while Rambo won his bracket with a 3 minute run and a 4 minute run.  With these scores, both dogs qualified for the finals.
